Grand Rapids Wedding Photographer | Cory and Jordan Highway

Family is everything, right? No matter how you define family, whether chosen or biological, I think most would agree that they're the most important people in our lives. Cory is my boyfriend Don's cousin and when he reached out to us last year about photographing his wedding to Jordan, I was over the moon! It was so special to be part of my extended family member's wedding, and I knew that it would be a momentous occasion to which I would be viewing with a backstage pass to all the wedding festivities. We did their engagement photos this fall at the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore - here's a throwback to that:

There’s something about a classic, formal wedding inside of a church that gets me every time. It just feels so pure and cinematic. I love the pews, the pulpit, the architecture, and – if I’m lucky – the stage lighting is perfect like it was at Cornerstone Church in Wyoming, MI. Isn't the inside of the sanctuary GORGEOUS? When we arrived at the church for rehearsal on Thursday night, Jordan's mom, dad, grandma & brother were building that twinkly backdrop you see behind the happy couple.

These two met in ELEMENTARY SCHOOL you guys - that was a long time ago. Cory proposed on top of the Sleeping Bear Dunes in Northern Michigan over a decade later and here we are looking at their wedding photographs! Isn’t that the sweetest story?

Since we had to drive right by the Blue Bridge in Grand Rapids to get the the Goei Center where they were having their reception, we wanted to make sure we took advantage of the opportunity to do their portraits in the park and around the bridge.

The reception was awesome! The DJ rocked the house, and everyone was so surprised when Jordan and her father did a choreographed dance routine!

Every detail was so carefully thought out. They even took advantage of using our Enchanted Mirror Photo Booth for their cocktail hour & reception.
